black box…
by ratman on Sep.09, 2009, under last time i mention this, soap box, things
turtle wax has a product out called black box. it’s a 2 step black tinted wax for black cars. a while back, i had a go at it.
i spent 6 and a half hours putting it on. my arms were tired. it looked really nice in most places. but some of the places that i really wanted it to look nice in, well, not so much.
now. it’s been a couple months, and really, not very good at all.
would i recommend it? nope. skip it and get something you trust.
back to meguiars and ice.
back to school…

the cubbies…
by ratman on Aug.30, 2009, under friends, last time i mention this, things, work
back in april, my boss and i made a bet. it was simple. the cubs would make it into the playoff’s for the 2009 season. the amount? $20.00.
things started out ok. wins. losses. some more wins.
but the tide, as it were, never turned. it seems that we have had one of the worst august’s that i can remember.
several times, during the last couple months, rick asked if i wanted to ‘buy out’ for half, and i had said no, still believing that my beloved cubbies would make it.
then, during this stand against the nationals, and a horrible loss, i decided that maybe it was worth it, and bought out my bet. $10 in lottery tickets was bought with my buyout, which then netted him $5.00. he still won, kinda.
i hope the cubs finish better than they look like they are going too, but playoff bound, looks far far away.
there’s always next year…
health care reform is going to die…
by ratman on Aug.17, 2009, under last time i mention this, politics, soap box, things
and we will be stuck with even higher costs to be covered, higher deductibles and preexisting condition refusal.
people that loose their jobs will be stuck with cobra prices and will then forfeit health care because they won’t be able to find the money to pay for it.
i hope that after this happens, that all the people that are denied coverage or can no longer pay their bills, take those bills and forward them off to those that spent so much time stopping this from bettering the country. including, but not limited to those that spent so much time protesting on tv and now, find themselves with big gaping holes in their ability to pay for the care that they need.
or…
people can go and read the bills that are, or have been, brought forth. They can actually see, for themselves, that noting they have been told by most of the people they have been listening to, that they have been lied to the whole time.
this is not the presidents fault. he is simply the person that started (well, really, thankfully, the clintons) this down the road again. what i truly enjoy are the numbers being bantered around that suggest that, say, 8 in 10 don’t want this. they haven’t called the people around me. not all of them agree, but the number isn’t 8 of 10.
dear president obama. don’t stop, and for americas sake, leave the public option in play. there is nothing wrong with wanting to make the country better, even when some can’t see the benefit. don’t show your cards yet. the flop hasn’t even finished being laid on the table yet!
please.
ps. and think further about this. what if this starts another campaign to remove, or worse, really privatize social security, a government run program? or what about medicare/medicaid? no wait? we still want those government run programs, because they work and help people in need. hmmmmm. then, as asked over and over and over again… what’s the problem???
slander…
by ratman on Aug.13, 2009, under last time i mention this, politics, soap box, things
there is some stompin’ going on with what secretary of state clinton said about the election in the year 2000. someone even offered that it was slanderous to make the statement. hmmm. how many slanderous statements have been made in the recent past? too many to count on ‘big blue’.
so. there are certainly people that believe the election(s) were both taken, and as opinions, as well as first amendant rights, to express them is totally ok by me. as long as there isn’t a threat of death (like the smart donkey with the sign), bodily injury or harm of another nature, if your in politics, you need to learn to have thick skin. if you don’t then you need a new job.
drug popping… cigar smoking… tubby fella… and logos…
by ratman on Aug.06, 2009, under last time i mention this, politics, soap box, things
rush. you pinhead. look at these logos. here is the one that you suggest that president obama’s health care logo looks like:

ok. here is the presidents health care logo:

and here are logos from our armed services, some of which look surprisingly like what you are complaining about:

so. do they look like what you are discussing? and if so, do you mean the same thing towards our military? if so, then you truly do have something wrong, something terribly wrong with your thought process.
as austin powers might say…
you are stealing every one’s mojo, fat bastard…
move on… bouncy boy…
now… outlaw the other ones…
by ratman on Aug.06, 2009, under last time i mention this, soap box, things
today, gov. quinn outlawed texting while driving. it’s a good thing. i use a couple tools in the car that still allow me to drive and pay attention, so it won’t bother me. and i am very happy that this was done.
now. what about make-up applying females? eaters? shavers? book readers or newspaper readers. there is this guy that i see every once in a while on eola that reads the paper. it’s right there in the middle of his steering wheel. i usually fall back a bit when i see him. just because.
obama too inexperienced to understand how congress works…
by ratman on Aug.05, 2009, under last time i mention this, politics, soap box, things
this statement really concerns me.
President Obama is too inexperienced in national politics to really understand the legislative process, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said Wednesday.
Grassley, who as a lead negotiator of the bipartisan healthcare reform deal the president supports has dealt often with Obama, said that while he likes the president personally, Obama effectively only had two years of experience in national politics.
“I think that he is a good person, and good-intentioned,” Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, said in a radio interview. “But I believe he didn’t serve in government long enough to understand really how things work.”
“Remember, he was in the Senate four years, but effectively only two years because he spent two years where he was hardly ever here at all — he was campaigning for president,” Grassley said. “He really does not have an understanding of how Congress operates.”
Grassley said that while the president’s numerous advisers may help him understand the process, Obama still has a “tough time.”
Still, Grassley did save some praise for Obama’s personal skills, though.
“You can’t help but like the guy,” the Iowa Republican said. “As he’s talking to you, he looks you right in the eye, and you’re the most important person in the world. He’s not like a lot of politicians.”
“He’s very idealistic, and so when you’re idealistic you want to put all those things into practice,” Grassley added. “So I think he’s maybe trying to do too much at one time.”
i think that he doesn’t understand how congress works, or more importantly, who they work for. it’s us. we the people. the ones that elected them to do what we want them to do. not what they personally think is right. it kind of cracks me up that anyone in congress even worries about going back to their states and talking to the people. in the end, they will do what they believe is right and not necessarily what we want them to do. it has been that way throughout history. yet another reason that i proudly voted for, and strongly support president barack obama.

and. if you want more humor, and misinformation, please just take a moment and watch this… who is this mans audience? my kids? and. where did he get the facts that he is trying to present? he should let me know. i’ll send him details about how to get an audible kid’s account…
health care… again…
by ratman on Aug.05, 2009, under last time i mention this, politics, soap box, things
ok look. i don’t care what side you are on. i only care that you speak the truth about that side. there are things about the reform bill that might not work out as well as we will hope, that is to be sure. however. there are things about it that will make this country great. and that is what we should be focused on.
really. i am for it. i know that it might actually cost me a bit more down the road, but believe that the long term benefits for myself, my family and others will be well worth the price. not unlike buying my house. i overpaid in today’s money, but believe that it will make a come back in the years to come. so will health care. people need to take the emotion out of it and start looking at it from a point of view that we are all in this together. it’s our country and the people in it are our citizens. making decisions as to who dies and who doesn’t by holding back health care for the minority, is just as bad as what is being said by the other side.
lets just move this forward and get on to more things.
happy birthday… mr. president…
by ratman on Aug.04, 2009, under last time i mention this, politics, soap box, things
seriously. happy birthday.
i hope that things go a little better after the break. i don’t, to this minute, understand why a break is needed, especially during these times we have at hand. it would seem to me that we have a lot of things that need fixing. i know that you are aware, but, i wonder how important it is to the rest of dc that things get done and we move on.
if it’s a sign, the market closed up again today. not much, but up is always good. it shows people that we are able to rebound.
i wish i could take a month off…
again. happy birthday!
