long night of playing games with the family. the celebration was a glass of asti at midnight.
the weather has turned back to the winter time it should be.
there is virtually no snow in the yard. having a 54 degree day helped with taking down all the decorations. now to get them back up in the garage! big thanks to the kids for doing those chores.
the g-man went out today and has reported that there isn’t anyone on the streets. seems like there must be some hangovers being taken care of this morning!
the wind is howling here today. my roof hasn’t been repaired since the last windy days. i hope it doesn’t suffer much more.
we’ve come to love aldi’s. shopping there does save some cash. not everything is good, but, there is enough and if you cook things that just need ingredients, then it’s a no brainer. using allrecipes.com helps us all try new things. basically, every weekend, mich and i look through their site and find things that look interesting. so far, we haven’t once had to resort to ‘emergency peanut butter and jelly sandwiches’! 9plus. i get some left overs to take to work!)
i believe that i couldn’t have lived without my droid this year. there are so many things that it does so very well. i have friends with iphones, and though i but them all the time, i generally understand their happiness with the phone. it really does work well. sometimes, my droid and i have an unhappy moment. but i have always been able to get it back to being my friend.
this past week, i was off and set one of my goals to clean out the utility room. you might ask why i mention this. well. anyone that knows me will tell you that i hoard. not like those folks on the show, but close nevertheless. well. i have 10 boxes of stuff headed to the electronics recycler. i also have various cfl and regular lamps to take back. and lastly a ton of chemicals that i just don’t need. i will, as this has become a new years resolution, continue to clean and recycle whatever i can. it’s just the right thing for me, and my family, to do. and with the availability to do most of this locally, for free, it makes it even better.
that’s it for today. bears play tomorrow. here’s to a win and a cup of coffee from mr. reehl.
till then… peace…
