i’m a registered democrat. yes, i know, not a good thing during the mid-terms. but the problems talked about in main stream media and the republican broadcasting partner fox network, aren’t really telling it like it is. the following is my take on where we are, today.

health care hasn’t really had time to kick in yet. i was a bit confused by what i heard and what i have been able to read. it seems to me that mcdonalds offers a less efficient way to handle health are, charging and being charged a sum for something that really doesn’t do much, except with increasing the change in the pockets of health are providers. there are many articles discussing the issue. here is one that seems to be by-partisan. http://goo.gl/YU1R make up your own mind with the information that is available, not just here, but anywhere you can find something written in the middle.

jobs. i am fortunate enough to still be employed. though i don’t always like my job, i do enjoy the people that i work with, and generally the challenges that my job offers. the company is a good company, and though there are some growing and economy pains, but we are moving forward and adapting to the way things are. having said that, i find it funny that the general mood of what we are led to believe is the populous of the united states wants smaller, less intrusive government, yet, we are blaming the government for not getting involved enough in creating jobs that america needs. wait! what? we want the government to stay out – and – in at the same time? how does that work exactly? why are we blaming the administration with this problem? the stimulus, which i didn’t necessarily agree with, has saved jobs, according to this article http://goo.gl/xY10. now. the administration got involved as asked, yet the way that they did gets constant and damning scrutiny every day by various media outlets. not enough for some. too much for others. what would be your idea? keep the bush tax cuts so that the upper 1% or so of the u.s. continues to get rich, while not helping the middles (disappearing) class continue to struggle? yeah. that makes sense.

the war in afghanistan is never ending. i don’t have anything else to say about this as i still don’t understand why we are there. i get wanting to find bin laden. i truly do. but i don’t think that war with a country is the right thing to do. as much money as is on his head, and yet the inability to find, or receive help finding him, should prove to us that no one is going to help us, and that we just need to sit back and rethink the strategy to find him. that, to me, does not include continuing the war there.

republicans are campaigning on fear. they use words that they know will get their scared constituents to follow. beck, fatman, hannity, savage and others are just stoking the fire. they have no real interest in getting things done, rather, they just want to line their pockets. i noticed this add the other day on some conservative site. it made me laugh out loud.

beck sells houses

would you buy real estate from this man?

.

the republican party has presented their pledge. feel free to read it. then feel free to tell me one new thing it proposes. you can read it here http://goo.gl/TICX. good luck. i couldn’t find anything new. not one thing. same tired ideas. same double speak. they haven’t wanted to work with anyone the past 2 years, so what makes anything different with this new pledge? i feel, that if they take over the house, that not only will things stop, but we will, i say again, will go backwards. nothing will get done. republicans will pass stuff. the president will veto it. the democrats will offer stuff. the republicans will deny it ever see the light of day. think things are bad now? just wait.

i love living in the united states. i love the freedoms and protections that the united states offers. i love the ability to do what i want, when i want. to see any movie. to read any book. to say what’s on my mind and not fear it. to try to make an informed decision based on what i believe is the best information. the ability to have and enjoy a good intelligent debate. these are just some of the things that make america great.

feel free to disagree. it’s your right.

no matter what however, vote. use this right as the option to believe in the change that you want. you must, however, spend time getting through all the crap to make up your mind. just because beck says it, doesn’t make it so. same with maddow or olbermann. use your own mind. decide for yourself. vote. i will be.

until then… peace…
